Canyon Lake Resort

The location is beautiful. My studio was well outfitted with great amenities, very clean and well organized. The staff were easy to find and always helpful. The grounds were in excellent condition and the scenic natural surroundings were charming and enjoyable to experience. I will definitely consider this my go to place any time I am in Rapid City.

The Perfect Spot for Our Family Reunion! Canyon Lake Reunion Lodge was everything we hoped for and more! This was the perfect location for our family reunion. The lodge is incredibly spacious, giving everyone room to relax, mingle, and make memories—from the toddlers playing to the grandparents visiting. It had everything we needed for a fun and comfortable weekend with our big group of 35, ranging in age from 1 to 78! The setup made it easy to cook, hang out, and enjoy each other’s company without feeling crowded. We had the best weekend and can’t thank the hosts enough for providing such a wonderful space for families to reconnect. Highly recommend this place for any large gathering—you won’t be disappointed!

This is a great place to stay when visiting the Rapid City area. Beautiful location on the lake, rooms are clean, kitchenette was useful for preparing food, very reasonably priced. Staff was friendly. Only two downsides: they don't have the right coffee for the machine that they provide (basically makes hot water) so we ended up going to a local shop each morning and the towel hooks in the bathroom are only useful if you're a tall adult. Kids or shorter adults can't reach the hooks.

A great stop on our trip to Colorado. The room pleasantly surprised us with its extensive kitchenette and scrupulous cleanliness. While we were only staying for the night, I was impressed by the unique complementary amenities that the property offers: paddleboat for the lake, a fire pit with property-provided wood. The area is secluded, quiet, and very peaceful. The property has some age to it, which shows in the little things such as some desilvering in the mirrors and generally outdated decor. However, the buildings and common areas appear well maintained, and we had no issues during our stay. Our A/C worked great in our room. I would gladly stay again if I pass through Rapid City.

Howdy folks! Yes, you know how you always see online pictures of the places you are going to reserve, and then you get there and say UGH!!??? Well, the Canyon Lake Resort is everything and more than all their pictures & promises! Simply the perfect place to stay while in Rapid and the surrounding area. No more hotels for us! Canyon Lake Resort is an amazing place to stay in Rapid City! I stayed in a cabin and it was really nice and modern. They have fire pits, a pool, and awesome views right on Canyon Lake. With close proximity to Rapid City, Chapel of the Hills, and the rest of the black hills, this place is definitely a must stay.

Loved staying at this motel as mother of the bride, the bridal party was across the parking lot in the lodge, very comfortable, very convenient. Only thing I didn't like was the smell of cleaning products when I walked in, it about knocked me over. Left things opened up for a while and it fixed it. I would absolutely stay again.

This was a wonderful weekend getaway for us! Clean cabins, comfortable beds, just wishing the chairs could’ve been a touch bigger (I’m 6’1” and the couch was a tad short for me) wonderful setting, and very relaxing! We’ll definitely be back!
